GAMES

Games have always been something that I've had access to, I was raised on them, I have an obsecene amount of them, and it will always be a part of me. From simple puzzle games to souls-like hellstorm fast-paced obscenities.

They will always really matter to me, but I don't really know how to express that, so I'll list a couple of my favorite games / games that have had the most influence on me and give them a rating.

Detroit: Become Human This game kinda inspired my love for choice-based games. The characters are so well written, every choice that you make throughout the game feels like it has so much weight on it, you can truly get yourself so immersed in the story that you feel genuinely bad for or angry at some of the characters in this game, added onto the fact that they use real huamn faces, and the models in this game look so incredibly realistic that I am able to be so immersed.

LittleBigPlanet This game was my childhood. A universe of hundreds of thousands of players, making their own worlds, levels, games, showcases, art, movies, everyone had their own spot, their own little world. I spent an unholy amount of hours on this game, sitting there, ps3 controller in hand, running through this game every chance that I could get, my mind bringing me wherever it wanted to go that day. Each day there was something new, something fun, something to get into. It was amazing, thank you LittleBigPlanet.

Paper Mario : The Thousand Year Door This is my favorite RPG game of all time, whenever I was at my grandmother's house and there was free time, this is what I would play. This was my favorite game on the gamecube (with Mario Sunshine at a close second), and I still have extremely fond memories of it. This game got my into RPG games, and that love has never gone away, turn-based or not. They're remaking it (written 5/9/24, will update when I get the remake) and I so goddamn happy about it, this game is just one of those games I've never forgotten about, forever in my mind. This also applies to Mario Galaxy and Mario Sunshine, but writing out 2 other ones would take away from the other games, although those both get very similar ratings.

HADES I LOVE HADES. It's so fast, so energetic. The character is so charismatic, it was one of my first roguelikes along with Risk of Rain 2 (Amazing game) and The Binding of Isaac (Can't even be described in a review, So much fun). The artstyle of the game, the character designs, the music, the voice acting, the weapon choices, the replayability. It will never not be one of my favorite games. I'm playing through the second one (early access) currently, and although it's slower, I still love it so much, and have no doubt that it will also be spectacular.

RESIDENT EVIL 7 / BIOHAZARD 7 This is the game that got me into the Resident Evil series, along with it being the game that saved the series. The Resident Evil series was dying down after the release of 5 and 6 being somewhat of a nightmare, and making 7 was the best thing they could've done. The change to first person perspective was done so smoothly, and allowed Capcom to make the game equally terrifying and fun. I played through that game at leats 5 times, and I don't regret a single second of it. It is my favorite Resident Evil game, and it introduced me to the rest of the series, which ended up being my favorite horror game series.
